When our friends at Byte Fusion donated an old laptop to help train two freshly matriculated students at LIV Village, we thought, “Lekker! Let’s get them online and learning.”
Then we met Windows 7.
Microsoft took one look and said, “Sorry, boet — no updates for you.”
We tried everything: Windows 10? Nope. Office? Nope. Hope? Running on low battery.
Then Google stepped in like that oke who always has a plan: “Why not try Chrome OS?”
So we did — and now this old machine runs smoother than a taxi on payday.
Next up, we’ll test it with a few locals. If it keeps performing this well, we’ll send it off to LIV Lanseria to keep changing lives — one reboot at a time.
Because sometimes, all it takes to make a difference is a little Byte Fusion and a lot of Google Chrome.
